AI is Growing: Is There a Future in Designing?

You know, especially if you are a student or trying to do something in Nepal with tech knowledge, you will know this word AI. This word has become so famous these days that it is part of our everyday life. I am a student, and I know and you too - this talk is going everywhere. Literally, people are asking: will AI take our jobs? It has become a nightmare for those who are already struggling with their work.

One day, I was doing my designing work when a friend came and told me, “This design is so bad.” He is a friend, so I didn’t mind that part too much. But then he said, “AI creates better designs than this. What you made in five minutes, AI can do faster than cooking Maggi.” Oh my god, I swear at that moment I wanted to beat him up. But I thought, if AI could create better than me, then designers would not be needed.

That day left a bitter taste because I used AI for design for the first time. I mean, we usually use AI in some way, but that was the first time I used it specifically for designing. And yes, it made the design better than mine. I was just a beginner training, so AI’s design was far better than mine. Of course, I felt ashamed, frustrated, and scared damnnnnn i was feeling all emotions at the same time.

In my mind, there was a flood of thoughts.

But AI is AI. It doesn’t match human emotions. Even with all those thoughts, I made up my mind and pulled myself together. It’s nothing. If AI dares to challenge me, I will challenge AI itself in designing. My motivation is: do the things you do so well that others cannot copy you, not even AI.

After that, I started reading AI articles here and there. Many people believe AI will take jobs, but many also see AI positively, saying it will help everyone boost their work.

After doing many designs myself and learning from my mistakes, I started using AI intuitively for feedback on my designs, alongside feedback from my teachers and friends. I used AI to review my designs and improve them. After that, I added my creative touch and personality to make the most of the designs.

For now, I can’t use AI to its full potential, but I use it to make tasks simpler, understand complex things I don’t know, take feedback, and do research. It made my designing faster and better.

Guys, don’t miss out. AI is your elevator to reach the top where you never reached before. Even though AI can create designs, it is not enough to make designs that require human-level understanding. Those who use AI to create everything from scratch will have a hard time, so be careful.

AI lacks creativity and critical thinking, which makes us human. So, use this chance to boost your skills and save your time instead of being scared. The one who conquers fear will conquer their dreams. Believe me, I was as scared as you are, but I will grow by using both AI and my own skills. Prove to the world and to yourself that you are better than anyone else.
